Professor — PUC-Campinas
I am a Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas). I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. Before joining PUC-Campinas, I held research appointments at several leading institutions, including the University of Campinas (Unicamp), Samsung R&D Brazil, the University of Oxford (UK), the Max Planck Institute for Human Development (Germany), the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (Germany), the National Institute for Space Research (INPE, Brazil), and Northwestern University (USA).
My research focuses on developing computational methods to extract insights from large, complex datasets. Some of my main research areas include:
